Mercury Cadmium Telluride (MCT) Detectors
Cooled infrared detectors for the 1 to 5.5µm band
Photoconductive quantum detectors based upon mercury cadmium telluride (HgCdTe) are used in the mid infrared band, from 1 to 5.5µm. We supply a variety of standard and custom MCT detectors, including quadrants and multi-element arrays from 2 to 128 pixels. These detectors must be cooled (liquid nitrogen in a dewar, multi-stage Peltier cooler, or using a Stirling-cycle engine). Matched preamplifiers are available.
