High speed "filter-on-chip" spectral imaging from Cubert

Cubert's ButterflEYE family of multispectral cameras are based on filter-on-chip (FoC) technology. Standard colour imagers use a Bayer pattern of red, green and blue filters on the image sensor to create a colour image. In a similar way, the ButterflEYE cameras use a mosaic of filters, in this case Fabry-Perot filter sets, to provide patterns of either 16, 25 or 41 different wavelength filters. As a result these cameras create snapshot images with greater spatial resolution that the FireFlEYE cameras but with lower spectral resolution.

The Butterfleye cameras uses a unique filter on chip technology which opens up a sweet spot between multi-chip multispectral cameras and full-blown hyperspectral cameras. With a medium spectral resolution of 16 to 25 channels the device enables a spatial resolution higher than QVGA.
Everything is combined in a smart camera module which enables not only the data storage directly on the device, but also application related post processing on the camera itself.

The device features computerless operation with a action-cam-like operation scheme making it easy to set up and use it in the field. With our spectral imaging software we bring you a versatile tool for data acquisition and processing, and offer full access to remote operation.

The Cubert ButterflEYE S128 VIS is a shortwave multispectral "snapshot" camera based on mosaic, "filter-on-chip" technology. The 2Mpx CMOS sensor is overlaid with a filter set to yield 16 spectral channels, a resolution of 20nm and a spectral cube resolution of 512 x 272 x 16. The maximum cube refresh rate is 10 cubes per second.

The ButterflEYE S128 VIS is a lightweight, highly portable,  "computerless" camera with on-board data processing and storage via SD card. Wireless remote control is available.

The 2Mpx CMOS sensor is overlaid with a filter set to yield 25 spectral channels, a resolution of 20nm and a spectral cube resolution of 400 x 218 x 25. The maximum cube refresh rate is 10 cubes per second.

The ButterflEYE S137 NIR is a lightweight, highly portable,  "computerless" camera with on-board data processing and storage via SD card. Wireless remote control is available.

The Cubert ButterflEYE S199 LS is a VNIR multispectral linescan camera based on linear "filter-on-chip" technology. The 2Mpx CMOS sensor is overlaid with linear filters to yield 160 spectral channels, a resolution of 5-10nm and a ground imaging resolution of up to 9cm. The maximum cube refresh rate is 10 cubes per second.

The ButterflEYE S199 LS is a lightweight, highly portable,  "computerless" camera with on-board data processing and storage via SD card. Wireless remote control is available.
