Cubert's FireflEYE is a family of hyperspectral cameras based upon multipoint spectrometer (MPS) technology providing up to 125 spectral bands. With "snap shot" images all the spectral information is collected at the same time with no movement of the device or sample. The MPS technology enables images to be collected at video rates and with high spectral resolution. The FireflEYE is Cubert's signature spectral imager, no matter if used on an UAV, in the field or in the laboratory. It combines the spectral precision of hyperspectral push-broom sensors with the ease of use (and speed) of snapshot multispectral cameras.

The Cubert FireflEYE S185 is the lightest version in the Cubert FireflEYE family of full frame imaging, snap-shot hyperspectral cameras. It combines the spectral and spatial precision of a hyperspectral camera with the ease of use and speed of a multispectral camera.

This camera provides the smartest access to hyperspectral areal images you could ever imagine. With no need for an IMU, you will get full hyperspectral cubes in 1/1000th of a second! Furthermore, the pre-processed data cubes are transferred to the ground station during flight and you can start to analyse your areal hyperspectral images already on site.

The S185 uses a unique technology which establishes a fair balance between spatial resolution and spectral resolution. The result is an imaging spectrometer with no need for scanning or a moving object (unlike like push broom technology) or image combination after fast filter shifts. Cubert’s technology provides clean hyperspectral images out of the box without any moving artefacts.

During the development of the Firefly, Cubert miniaturised their laboratory platform. The weight was reduced from 3kg to a total weight of 490 g (including camera). This was achieved by the use of lightweight and yet stable materials like aluminum and Kevlar. Due to the lack of any moving parts, the package provides a light but long-term stable product. In combination with an industry grade processing unit for the on-air data storage and the ground communication, we achieve a flight ready weight as low as 840 g.

The Cubert FireflEYE Q285 is based on the S185 but packaged into waterproof, dustproof and shock-resistant IP67 cerrtified housing which guarantees long term stability and allows you to use the system where you need it. As with the S185, it combines the spectral and spatial precision of a hyperspectral camera with the ease of use and speed of a multispectral camera.
