Laser Safety Barrier Windows

LASERVISION Laser Safety Window

Mineral glass & polycarbonate windows to safely view the laser process

Barrier windows are sheets of mineral glass or polycarbonate that can be built into laser enclosures to allow the laser process to be watched in safety. These windows can also be used for other purposes, for example in doors to rooms where lasers are operating.

Mineral Glass Windows

LASERVISION safety glass windows are tested, certified and marked in accordance with DIN EN 207 and are subject to continuous in-house quality monitoring in addition to testing by independent agencies (e.g. DIN CERTCO, Physikalisch-Technische-Bundesanstalt, BLZ). Furthermore, glass windows are provided with an additional chip guard; if a laser safety window breaks as a result of extreme exposure, there is a second sheet of glass which is laminated to the laser safety glass. This secondary layer confers two benefits: firstly, it prevents the window failing completely, leaving the viewer exposed to the laser radiation; secondly, it prevents any injuries from the glass splinters. This is a unique safety feature of LASERVISION windows. Glass windows are offered in two standard sizes; 100 x 200mm and DIN A4 (210 x 297mm).

Polycarbonate Windows

In addition to glass windows, LASERVISION also offers a range of plastic windows. These plastic sheets are available for many wavelengths and in various standard sizes. Most plastic sheets do not have CE certification (except P2008). They are suitable for low power lasers or are used in places where the laser beam cannot directly hit the window (diffuse viewing only). Plastic windows are available in a wider range of sizes, up to 1000 x 1000mm.

For assistance in selecting a suitable window for your laser, please use our Enquiry Form to submit details of your requirement (including laser parameters). Alternatively, you can download EYEPRO Software which will calculate the required protection levels based on your laser parameters and recommend available window materials from the LASERVISION range (see links above).
