Near-perfect Lambertian reflectance targets for field calibration

Spectralon targets provide near-perfect Lambertian (diffuse) reflectance and are used to calibrate spectroradiometers and remote sensing apparatus in the 250-2500nm range. Spectralon targets are ideal for laboratory and field applications that require long exposure to harsh environmental conditions. Because of the diffuse reflectance properties of Spectralon, these targets maintain a constant contrast over a wide range of lighting conditions. Spectralon targets are available in plates up to 24 inches square and are available in white or grey scale material and are mounted in a rugged anodised aluminium frame. Larger reflectance targets can be constructed and custom targets of various reflective values are available in sizes up to 3 meters square.

Compared with painted targets, Spectralon is thermally stable, durable, washable and waterproof and perfect for harsh environments and field calibration of remote sensing equipment. Spectralon targets are supplied calibrated for 8°/hemispherical reflectance factor traceable to NIST. The certificate supplied lists spectral reflectance from 250-2500nm.

Contrast Targets

Spectralon contrast targets are perfect for the calibration of video cameras, densitometers, the contrast transfer of propagation media and testing imaging system in both laboratory field conditions. These chemically inert targets are durable and washable, consisting of diffuse white (99% reflectance) and diffuse dark grey (10% reflectance) panels mounted side-by-side in an anodised aluminium frame. Spectralon multi-step targets consist of four panels mounted side-by-side of reflectance 99, 50, 25 & 12.5%. The four panels provide equal optical density differences and equal contrast, between any two adjacent panels.
