Illuminance Meters

An illuminance photometer measures the luminous flux received at a surface per unit area. The measurement unit is the lumen per square meter, but this is simplified to the lux. Hence, illuminance meters are commonly referred to as “lux meters”. Tristimulus versions of our photometers tell you the colour (CIE chromaticity and correlated colour temperature, CCT in Kelvin) of the light source. Pro-Lite supplies illuminance photometers and colorimeters from Konica Minolta, including a number of models available for short-term hire. Illuminance measurements can also be performed using a spectroradiometer. For our range of JETI and Konica Minolta spectroradiometers that are configured for spectral irradiance and illuminance measurements, click here.  The projected illuminance, luminous intensity and beam pattern can be measuring using an imaging photometer or colorimeter.
