Reflector Coating Services by Labsphere

Pro-Lite provides a service for painting parts with proprietary diffuse reflectance coatings. Diffuse reflectance coatings and materials exhibit Lambertian reflectance, that property whereby the reflected intensity of light follows Lambert’s cosine law, or the reflected radiance (or luminance) is equal from all directions of view and illumination. Diffuse reflectance is the opposite of specular (mirror-like) reflectance.

Our service is performed at Labsphere who are global leaders in diffuse reflectance coating technology. Our standard spray-on coating is Spectraflect, a barium sulphate-based formulation that provides up to 98% hemispheric reflectance in the 250-2500nm wavelength range. For application in more hostile environments, we offer Labsphere’s Permaflect coating which provides a more durable finish that can withstand routine handling and can be more easily cleaned. For applications in the infrared, Labsphere’s Infragold is an electroplated gold coating that exhibits a reflectance of up to 94% in the 0.7 to 20μm band. Infragold can be applied to metal parts.
