SBIR Colosus Sensor Test System

Fully automated image sensor testing from 300nm to 14µm

Colosus stands for Collimated Optics, Software and Uniform Source and is a hybrid electro-optical system co-developed by Labsphere, Inc. and Santa Barbara Infrared, Inc. intended for broad spectrum camera and image sensor testing. Colosus combines a Labsphere HELIOS integrating sphere uniform light source and a SBIR blackbody source together with collimation optics and precision emissive and reflective target wheels. Colosus provides traceable radiance and irradiance and facilitates the fully automated testing of camera and image sensors over the entire UV to LWIR spectral range, from 300nm to 14μm.

The Colosus sensor test system is offered in both collimated and flood-mode test configurations. Integrating spheres, blackbodies, collimators, target wheels, system peripherals and traceable calibration data are combined and controlled by the SBIR IRWindows™4 automated test software package to provide a single, easy-to-use testing method. Custom test solutions can be designed to achieve specific program requirements.
