Active Laser Safety Window Kit
Due to the constantly increasing laser power and beam quality of modern disc and fiber lasers laser safety according to the standards is difficult to achieve with commonly used filter materials. In most cases common laser safety windows do not reach the protection rating required from excellent beam quality and power density of the used lasers.
The patented active cabinet window solves this problem in an ideal and easy way by integration of the implemented electronic into the safety circuit of the laser system. In case that a laser beam hits the window and a sufficient part of the radiation couples into sensor in the window sheet, the laser will be shut-down immediately before radiation leaks from the back side of the window. In addition the system is totally insensitive against scattered and process light.
The large active laser safety window kit is CE certified acc. to the EC-machinery directive at wavelengths within the range 820-1100nm. In combination with active barrier systems a safety solution for industrial high power laser installations is available.
Key Features
The active laser protection window kit is particularly interesting for OEM customers due to the availability of various sizes as a kit. It consists of the laser shield in sandwich structure, the laser spy as a sensor and the required mounting material for the sensor. In addition, the respective disc is offered together with the sensor and a matching adapter plate. The complete laser protection window kit is CE certified (test class T1) and suitable for the wavelength range between 820 and 1100nm up to an energy density of 31.8×109 W / m2. When installing in the laser system, it must be ensured that the edge of the laser protection screen is mounted or enclosed in a light-tight manner.
The active laser safety window offers greater safety in the automatic, unobserved operation of high-power laser systems. If laser radiation hits the disk with sufficient power, it is coupled onto the sensor integrated in the disk. This immediately switches off the laser before dangerous radiation can escape through the glass. By eliminating the frame, even easier integration, e.g. in a machine housing possible. For the first time it is possible to integrate this technology into the existing design concept of the machine or machining center.
