Nanomotion Customised Products

Application Specific Motion Solutions

For the highest performance levels in complex applications, it is often necessary to look beyond standardised products. When a standard stage performance or configuration is deemed to be not suitable, Nanomotion designs and manufactures a wide range of application specific motion solutions, that can range in performance depending on the requirements of the end use. The semiconductor, biomedical, defence, and space industries all require solutions on the cutting edge of innovation in order to function, and so Nanomotion are happy to consider customised solutions to fit the needs of OEM projects.

High Speed Autofocus Axes – Brochure

High speed auto-focus axes are required to follow cell terrain in microscopy. A demanding step profile of continuous movements at the level of tens of nanometers is required in order to maintain focus.

Digital Microscopy – Brochure

High performance XY stages can allow for high constant velocity scanning as well as step-and-repeat motion for automated image acquisition. Microscopy stages can be designed to accommodate transmissive or reflective imaging requirements.

Light Sheet Microscopy – Brochure

Nanomotion’s open frame, low profile microscope stages are precise, high resolution with exceptional velocity uniformity.
An example for a Light Sheet Microscope stage that is in production, offers:

  • 10nm resolution to support velocity of 200nm/sec -200µm/sec
  • Drift requirement < 50nm.
  • Motion profile of 200nm steps.

Endoscopy Autofocus

Miniature, low voltage piezo motors are ideal for use in small focussing modules, such as those required in the field of endoscopy. A miniature focus module fits inside a 25mm cubic volume, providing >8mm travel and closed loop position resolution to 0.24µm.

Autofocus Modules

Nanomotion designs and manufactures a range of modules for focusing applications. These modules are designed to be integrated into hand-held, airborne, and ground vehicles devices that are subject to various levels of shock and vibration. Auto focus modules operate in a closed loop environment and are integrated with the XCD or XCD2 control and drive boards. Auto focus modules are designed to work in any orientation and can be configured for customer specific lens.

Velox Commercial Sensing Payload – Datasheet  Nanomotion Customised Products

Velox is an advanced miniature gyro stabilized EO/IR 2-axis payload for day and night surveillance and area dominance applications. High dynamics – high endurance performance enables large amplitude vibration compensation, allowing operation in low light level and thermal camera with no blur. The Payload is equipped with high end optics 12M pixel VIS camera and uncooled IR 640 x 512 Camera. The line of sight is stabilized by a closed loop control system. It achieves stabilisation of elevation and azimuth axes with the assistance of the gyroscope and encoders sensors to a level of 80μRad.

Applications

  • Area dominance
  • Thermal inspection and maintenance
  • Search and rescue
  • Security & surveillance systems
  • UAV / robotic vision
  • Navigation / obstacle-avoidance
  • Automotive
  • Precision agriculture

Stages for E-beam and Ion beam

Stages for E-Beam & Ion Beam chambers provide multi axis motion for high vacuum and UHV environments. Stages can be designed with a wide range of linear and rotary travel and position resolution down to 10 nm.

Stages for spectroscopy

Stages for Spectroscopy, both vacuum and non-vacuum, provide multi axis motion in a compact package.

Wafer Inspection Stages

Wafer inspection stages provide travel in X and Y axes to support wafers of up to 450 mm diameter. Piezomotor stages can offer absolute position stability at rest with no EMI and built in holding and braking for contact and non-contact measurements.

3-Axis Platform

A 3 axis, XYZ platform can be used to provide critical motion for imaging satellites.

Rotary Stage

Nanomotion’s FRV rotary stage, utilised for antenna alignment, offers a smaller and lighter motion platform. This stage provides higher resolution and inherent accuracy over traditional rotary drives and creates no micro vibrations with inherent redundancy.
