Cubert ULTRIS X20 High Resolution "Snapshot" Hyperspectral Imager

High speed & high resolution spectral imaging from Cubert

Compared with the FireflEYE multipoint spectrometer, the ULTRIS is based upon a 20 Megapixel Ultra-HD CMOS sensor with “light field” sensing (see Tech Note right). This makes it the highest resolution snapshot hyperspectral imager. It has a native resolution of 410×410 pixels, resulting in an impressive 168,100 spectra, each with 164 spectral bands covering 350-1000nm, taken in a single snapshot.

Key Features of Cubert ULTRIS X20

  • Snapshot hyperspectral imaging
  • Video frame rate, no moving artifacts (6 fps)
  • Full frame images in the VNIR, 350–1000nm
  • 164 spectral channels
  • Spectral resolution of 4nm
  • Spatial resolution of 410 x 410 px spectral (168,0100 spectra per cube)
  • Compact & light weight: 0.35kg (standard IP40 housing)
  • Industrial (IP65) and waterproof (IP68) housing options

Bringing Light Field Technology to Hyperspectral Imaging

The Cubert ULTRIS breaks new ground as the first hyperspectral imaging camera that is based on “light field technology”. The camera features an Ultra-HD CMOS sensor with 20 MP, making it the imaging spectrometer with the world’s highest available resolution. The camera provides a native image resolution of 400×400 px with 164 spectral channels, continuously covering the wavelength range from 350 to 1000nm. The ULTRIS records an object with a multitude of images, each with its own optical bandpass filter with different centre wavelength. This is made possible by combining a continuously variable bandpass filter with a lenslet array. Applying this concept to the UHD sensor, 168,100 spectra are acquired simultaneously.

Available in three housings

  • Standard lightweight housing IP40 – Weighing less than 350g, the camera is even lighter than the established FireflEYE 185, making it perfect for deployment on a UAV
  • Industrial housing IP65 –To meet the requirements of harsh industrial environments. a special rugged, robust housing is available, ensuring optimal protection
  • Waterproof housing IP68 – Upgrade the ULTRIS X20 to IP68 and use it underwater to a depth of 10m for 10h
