Cubert ULTRIS S-Line Hyperspectral Video Camera

Small, Fast and Affordable Hyperspectral Camera from Cubert

Video-rate hyperspectral imaging offers unprecedented capabilities to capture and analyse vast amounts of spectral data in real-time. With the ability to record and process images across multiple narrow spectral bands simultaneously, video-rate hyperspectral imaging has the potential to transform industries such as agriculture, machine vision, medical imaging, and surveillance. By providing high-resolution spectral information, it allows for improved accuracy and reliability in object recognition and classification, enabling automated decision-making systems that can enhance productivity, efficiency, and safety. As such, the growing adoption of video-rate hyperspectral imaging is paving the way for a new era of intelligent machines that can see and interpret the world with greater precision and speed than ever before.

Cubert GmbH has dramatically reduced the size of their light field technology to create a hyperspectral video camera based on a 5 MP sensor that is just 30x30x50 mm and weighs only 120g. The Ultris 5 is a compact hyperspectral video camera covering the spectral range from 450-850 nm with a total of 51 bands, and frame rates of >15 Hz. With a relay lens, the camera can even be mounted on more complex optical systems, such as microscopes, endoscopes or industrial inspection systems. And this is just the start of a multiple developments in the Ultris family of cameras!

Key Features of Cubert ULTRIS S5
  • Compact Design: One of the smallest hyperspectral video cameras on the market, measuring just 30 x 30 x 50 mm and weighing only 120 g
  • High Spectral Resolution: Captures 51 spectral bands within the 450-850 nm range (VNIR) with a sampling rate of 8 nm
  • High Frame Rate: Capable of recording hyperspectral videos at over 15 Hz, with the HFR version reaching up to 75 Hz
  • 5 MP Sensor: Equipped with a 5 Megapixel sensor, providing a spatial resolution of 290 x 275 pixels
  • Versatile Lens Options: Features a Relay Lens Adapter for mounting various C-Mount objectives, including macro optics and fisheye lenses
  • Robust Software Integration: Comes with Cubert’s powerful CUVIS software for processing raw data, reflectance, and radiance, supporting real-time data processing and analysis
  • Affordability: Offers a cost-effective solution for hyperspectral imaging, making it competitive with RGB and multispectral cameras

  • Global Shutter: Utilizes a global shutter for accurate and distortion-free image capture
  • High-Speed Data Transfer: The HFR version includes a 10 Gigabit Ethernet port for rapid data transfer

The ULTRIS S5 features the same footprint as your standard industrial imaging camera in size and price, but it delivers an incredible spectral discrimination in comparison. This enables new applications in Food Quality and Safety, Medical Imaging and Remote Sensing alike.

The ULTRIS S5 is the most versatile addition to Cubert’s family of Light Field hyperspectral cameras. It is small enough to fit into any industrial process system, powerful enough to fill medical imaging requirements and fast enough to record complete non-scanning snapshot datacubes at 15Hz.

Configurations of the ULTRIS S5 are available for endoscope and microscope use, and custom wavelength ranges upon request.

Key Features of Cubert ULTRIS SR 5

Plug and Play: The ULTRIS SR5 brings an optical adapter enabling hyperspectral medical imaging. Our snapshot cameras are designed to allow real-time analysis of time critical processes, making them perfectly suited for any biomedical application. The relay lens adapter connects the imaging spectrometer to your medical device expertly and quickly. The new adapter is compatible with any C-Mount objective, still enabling video spectroscopy in real-time. Any lens, including macro optics or fish eye lenses, can instantly be mounted onto the camera.
The camera can even be mounted on more complex optical systems, such as microscopes, endoscopes or even industrial inspection systems.

Powerful software & SDK for Microscopy and Endoscopy

The ULTRIS SR5 is a huge step forward in bringing hyperspectral light field technology to biomedical applications. It is designed to quickly provide critical information. Cubert’s powerful HSI software CUVIS takes Raw Data, Reflectance and even Radiance in real-time. Customized plug-ins and classification solutions can be directly applied to the live view. The powerful SDK allows for smooth system integration. Originally developed in C, the SDK is now available with wrappers for C++ and Python.

Key Features of Cubert ULTRIS H5

The ULTRIS H5 is the 10 GigE version of our standard ULTRIS 5. The camera properties are the same, featuring a resolution of 290 x 275 pixel and 51 spectral bands covering 450-850 nm. Equipped with a 10 Gigabit Ethernet port, the integrated Sony IMX250 sensor can unleash its full potential and can deliver up to 75 Hz while retaining the typical 12 bit depth, which is often needed for hyperspectral applications.
