CID Bio-Science CI-110 Plant Canopy Imager

Fast, Portable Plant Canopy Imager for Environmental & Crop Research

The new CI-110 combines hemispherical canopy photography and image analysis with light measurement to non-destructively calculate leaf area index (LAI) and other canopy parameters. The self-levelling digital camera takes 150 degree images of plant canopies for hemispherical photograph analysis.

The 24 photosynthetically active radiation (PAR) sensors in the arm of the instrument can be used for an alternative measurement of LAI, to assess current radiation levels of the site, and to evaluate sunflecks. The updated, ergonomic design is paired with a 7″ capacitive touch screen, a trigger with delayed image release for crisp images, and the ability to add or exchange filters over the camera lens.

he CI-110 is particularly useful for applications such as silviculture, forest restoration, and optimising yields and wood quality.

The CI-110 Plant Canopy Imager by CID Bio-Science is a versatile tool designed for fast and portable canopy analysis, making it ideal for environmental and crop research. It combines hemispherical canopy photography with light measurement to non-destructively calculate leaf area index (LAI) and other canopy parameters. Researchers can use the CI-110 to measure vegetative spectral response, estimate plant nutrition, water requirements, and plant stress, enhancing crop yields.

Additionally, it provides valuable data for forest productivity and environmental research, helping scientists understand the impacts of climate change and human activity on natural ecosystems. The CI-110 is particularly useful for applications such as silviculture, forest restoration, and optimising yields and wood quality.

Key Features of CI-110 Plant Canopy Imager
