Optimised fibre optic probes for Wasatch Raman spectrometers

Wasatch Photonics offers innovative Raman probes with a modular, user-replaceable tip and fibers, allowing reconfiguration for various applications. Choose from the standard probe tip, a longer BallProbe® for process applications, or the unique SM05 adapter with 12.7mm lenses for focal lengths ranging from sub-mm to 50mm.

These probes are optimised for use with f/1.3 Raman spectrometers, ensuring maximum collection efficiency and signal strength.

Constructed from durable materials, they are reliable for fieldwork and industrial applications, making them a versatile and robust tool for precise Raman spectroscopy.

Wasatch Photonics offers a range of innovative Raman probes designed for flexibility and high performance in various applications. Their user-configurable Raman probes feature a modular design with replaceable tips and fibers, allowing users to adapt the probes to different sampling needs. This modularity is particularly beneficial for applications requiring different focal lengths and working distances, such as process monitoring, environmental analysis, and material identification.

The standard probe tip provides a working distance of 11mm and is suitable for most general Raman applications. For more specialiSed needs, Wasatch Photonics offers the BallProbe® tip, which is ideal for direct contact or immersion measurements, and a custom lens adapter that allows users to test different focal lengths and spot sizes.

Our standard probes have been used in a wide variety of applications, including identification of plastics. Our new contact ball probe tip has proven ideal as a Raman process probe to monitor fermentation of sugar. It has also been used with ultrasonic capture for in-situ detection of microplastics – see Spectroscopy magazine’s June 2020 special issue on Raman.
