Wasatch Photonics Raman Spectrometer Series

Raman Spectrometer Systems - Sense and Sensitivity

Complete, turn-key Raman spectroscopy systems from Wasatch Photonics comprise a fast f/1.3 spectrometer with a choice of fully integrated laser, filtering, and sample-coupling optics. Alternatively, choose a semi-integrated system with built-in laser and flexible probe, or a modular system with external laser. The key performance metric with Wasatch Raman spectrometers is throughput – Wasatch f/1.3 fiber coupled spectrometers have 10x more throughput compared to a typical f/4 spectrometer, a critical difference in any low light application, particularly so in Raman spectroscopy.

This highly comprehensive, compact Raman product line includes modular spectrometers, integrated lasers, complete systems, and OEM modules ideal for either research and product development – or both! With choices for wavelength, f-number, optical coupling, slit size & detector, you’ll find the perfect balance of sensitivity & resolution to take your Raman measurements to the next level.

System Configurations – from Fully Modular to Fully Integrated

Wasatch’ fully modular Raman spectrometer systems provide the highest level of flexibility with a standalone WP Raman spectrometer together with separate laser, flexible fibres and a Raman probe. Standard excitation wavelengths are 532,  638, 785 and 830.

The semi-integrated Raman spectrometer systems save space and cost by combining the laser and WP Raman spectrometer in one box, together with separate, flexible fibres and a Raman probe. Standard excitation wavelengths are 638, 785 and 830nm.

Last but by no means least, the fully integrated Raman spectrometer systems save space and provide the ultimate in ease-of-use and operator convenience. The entire system (laser, WP spectrometer and sample coupling optics) are all housed in one box. Standard excitation wavelengths are 638, 785, 830nm.

Laser Safety: It’s always important!

When you are using a Raman spectrometer with an integrated or standalone laser, it is extremely important to follow all recommended safety precautions. You should also complete your organization’s laser safety training course, or seek one out independently. At a minimum, any Raman system operator should:

  1. Know the output power level and excitation wavelengths of all lasers in operation
  2. Ensure that the laser path is closed before operating the excitation laser (i.e., all fibers are connected and/or a sampling chamber is attached)
  3. Do not handle the Raman probe or remove the sampling chamber cover with the laser turned on
  4. Ensure that everyone within line-of-sight to the laser (direct, reflected, or scattered) is wearing protective goggles rated for the appropriate wavelength(s) and optical density (OD)
