Konica Minolta T-10A Illuminance Photometer

Portable Photometer for Measuring Illuminance in lux

The portable Konica Minolta T-10A illuminance photometer employs a cosine-diffused sensor that is spectrally matched to the CIE V(λ) photopic observer function. The T-10A reports illuminance in lux (lx) and in the imperial unit of footcandles (fc). The T-10A provides a high level of measurement accuracy with an f1’ factor of 6% and the fitment of a cosine diffuser that ensures that the effective illuminance from off-axis light sources is scaled correctly.

The T-10A is the photometer version of the CL-200A colorimeter. Please note that Pro-Lite maintains a CL-200 colorimeter (predecessor to the CL-200A) – which doubles as an illuminance photometer – that is available for short term rental.

Konica Minolta T-10A Overview

The T-10A is a portable illuminance photometer that employs a cosine-diffused sensor that is spectrally matched to the CIE V(λ) photopic observer function.

The T-10A provides illuminance measurements from 0.01 to 299,900 lux. In nature, illuminance typically ranges from about 0.01 lux on a dark night to about 100,000 lux on a hot summer day. Workplace illumination is normally around 500-1000 lux.

The T-10A conveniently allows you to separate the sensor head from the main body of the meter. This allows you to hold the sensor towards the light source whilst standing to one side and reading the light level. To use the T-10A in this way, you will need to use a couple of optional accessories: the T-A20 receptor unit for the main body and the T-A21 receptor unit for the sensor head with 1m LAN cable.

Basic operation of the T-10A gives you readings of the metric illuminance in lux, or you can select the imperial foot candles if you prefer. Advanced operation allows you to hold a reference reading and enter colour correction factors specific to the type of light source under test. Zero adjustment is automatic, while you can either leave the meter to set its own range automatically or choose your preferred range manually. The LCD display features a backlight that turns on automatically under low ambient illumination. The T-10A operates from AA-size batteries (non-rechargeable) that last for approximately 72 hours of use.

The CL-200 sensor head plugs into the T-A21 adaptor. Connects to T-A20 and the CL-200A main body using a (supplied) 1m LAN cable.

1

CL-A11 Hood

The CL-A11 hood reduces errors associated with off-axis stray light entering the sensor

1

CL-A10 Hard Case

The T-10A is capable of performing the following measurements:

Measurement

Units

Application

Illuminance

lux or footcandles

Illuminance of lamps, LEDs, luminaires, sunlight, vehicle headlamps (etc).

Luminous Intensity

candelas

The luminous intensity of a lamp may be computed by applying the inverse squared rule to the measured illuminance. Note that the illuminance must be recorded in the photometric far-field.
