The The HySpex Mjolnir hyperspectral camera family from NEO are light weight, compact and high performance push-broom spectral imagers optimised for aerial (UAV) use in the VNIR from 400-1000nm (Mjolnir 1240), the SWIR from 970-2500nm (Mjolnir S-620) or the combined VNIR/SWIR from 400-2500nm (Mjolnir VS-620) bands.

The Mjolnir (from Norse mythology, Mjölnir being the hammer of Thor, the god associated with thunder) was developed out of a joint Norwegian/French defense contract for a compact hyperspectral camera designed specifically for UAV use.

The HySpex Mjolnir hyperspectral imaging system provides a unique combination of small form factor and low mass, combined with high-performance specifications and scientific-grade data quality. The UAV bundle offered by NEO integrates a hyperspectral camera with an onboard computer and an integrated navigation system, all fitted into a self-contained module. The Mjolnir is fully compatible with a wide range of third-party drones.

Being operationally fully independent of the UAV, HySpex Mjolnir cameras are designed to be compatible with a wide range of UAVs. APX-15 and APX-20 support dual IMU which is especially important when operating with the gimbal to compensate for the dynamic lever arm.

All HySpex Mjolnir systems can also be mounted on a tripod and rotation stage for ground use.

Mjolnir V-1240

The Mjolnir V-1240 hyperspectral camera for the VNIR wavelength range 400-1000nm combines low mass and power consumption, making it ideally suited for mounting on a wide range of UAVs. The V-1240 is also compatible with a wide range of off-the-shelf gimbals. NEO offers high-performance unmanned aerial vehicles, fully integrated with the HySpex Mjolnir V-1240. The UAV is fitted with a standard battery package allowing up to 30 minutes of flight time. All HySpex Mjolnir systems can also be mounted on a tripod and rotation stage for ground use.

Mjolnir S-620

The Mjolnir S-620 hyperspectral camera for the SWIR wavelength range of 970-2500nm combines low mass and power consumption, making it ideally suited for mounting on a wide range of UAVs. The V-1240 is also compatible with a wide range of off-the-shelf gimbals. NEO offers high-performance unmanned aerial vehicles, fully integrated with the HySpex Mjolnir V-1240. The UAV is fitted with a standard battery package allowing up to 30 minutes of flight time. All HySpex Mjolnir systems can also be mounted on a tripod and rotation stage for ground use.

Mjolnir VS-620

The Mjolnir VS-620 hyperspectral camera for the VNIR & SWIR wavelength ranges 400-2500nm combines low mass and power consumption, making it ideally suited for mounting on a wide range of UAVs. The VNIR and SWIR optical axes are coaligned along the track direction, assuring perfect co-registration in the flight direction. The hyperspectral data cube comprises 490 bands across the 400-2500nm band, with double the resolution data in the VNIR range readily available.

With smile and keystone aberations of less than 0.1 pixels for each spectral range, the merged Mjolnir VS-620 data product will have co-registration/keystone better than 0.2 pixels for the full VNIR-SWIR range. The VS-620 is compatible with a wide range of off-the-shelf gimbals. NEO offers high-performance unmanned aerial vehicles, fully integrated with the HySpex Mjolnir V-1240.

HySpex Mjolnir VS-620 comes in an IP65-graded version. Designed specifically for environmental monitoring where the camera is installed in an exposed and unattended remote location for continuous operation over extended periods.

GIMBAL

The advanced 3-axis digital stabilizer, gStabi H16, weighs only 2.2 kg (4.85 lbs). NEO delivers the gStabi H16 with a circular quick release, allowing it to be seamlessly fit on a wide range of multi-rotors. Capable of handling payloads up to 7 kg (15.43 lbs), the gimbal can support all HySpex Mjolnir models.
